PlayStation Drops 6 New Free Downloads You Can Try Now Without PS Plus

March is shaping up to be yet another month of incredible game releases, but, in the meantime, saving money is going to be the only way that we can get through some of 2026’s major launches. However, that does not mean that you cannot still get your hands on some amazing titles. Courtesy of PlayStation, there is a way to try out some of the biggest upcoming games ahead of launch, and most importantly, for free. So, without further ado, let us take a look at some titles which could find their way onto your wishlist.

PlayStation Gamers Can Try These Games For Free Now

Mad Hook

Under the Island is a 2D action-adventure with calls back to the iconic 90s era of gaming and some serious Zelda vibes. Developed by Slime King Games, this charming action RPG will see you take on the role of Nia, a young explorer who must battle fierce monsters, solve puzzles, and explore a world shrouded in mystery whilst in a race to save her home, before it is too late. Now, PlayStation 5 owners will be able to dive into this game before checking out the full title, which launched just last month.

However, if you are looking for a simulation game, then Mega Carrier Simulator is guaranteed to fit the bill. Available to try out on PlayStation 4, players will be tasked with sitting behind the wheel of multiple heavy-duty transport vehicles as they haul oversized cargo across challenging routes. However, by mastering precision driving and real-life physics, you will soon be the king of the road.

In an action roguelite unlike any other, Operation Candy Land will see you fight feral gummy bears, angry lollipops, and sneaky marshmallows after all of Candy Land’s residents go wild. In order to survive against the sweet onslaught, you will have to run, shoot, and build crazy towers, and pray that your defenses and arsenal are enough to keep you alive.

It’s Always Good To Try Before You Buy

Yacht Club Games

That is not all, as there are three more games that you can try before you buy before making that financial commitment. Next is Ariana and the Elder Codex, a Metroidvania game which tasks the titular character with restoring the Codices and unraveling the library’s hidden truths. If not, magic would continue to be absent from the world, but luckily, Arianna is an exception and can use her abilities to navigate a book-filled world, and hopefully, save the day.

On the subject of Metroidvanias, Mina the Hollower is also available to check out, with players able to take on the role of renowned Hollower Mina as she embarks on a mission to save a cursed island. With the ability to whip foes, burrow through the ground, and navigate a pixel-perfect world, this 2D platformer already looks to be a standout in the genre.

Last but not least is Darwin’s Paradox!, an action-adventure platformer from publisher Konami. Torn from the ocean and now trapped in a mysterious industrial complex, Darwin the octopus will have to use his ingenuity and abilities to navigate a strange new world. However, with danger and traps at every corner, will the sea creature have what it takes? Ahead of its full launch this April, players can dive into Konami’s latest offering right now.
