There’s a brand-new piece of unique, officially licensed hardware set to drop in just a matter of days—but players may want to hold on to their wallets for this one (via PS Direct).
PlayStation Gets New Hardware On April 9
PlayStation and Sony are set to release the official new Victrix Pro KO Leverless Fight Stick Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition controller on Thursday, April 9, 2026. It’s a unique, officially licensed Street Fighter 2 fight stick that works with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, as well as Windows PC.
Fight stick controllers are throwback novelty items designed from old-school arcade controls, where fighting games like Street Fighter 2 used joystick and large button layouts. Back in the 2010s or so, the introduction of “leverless” controllers replaced the joystick with directional buttons.
The popular leverless design on controllers like this one allows for faster and more consistent inputs because they remove the physical delay from the joystick, and function more like keyboards, offering highly precise, digital inputs that many players prefer on classic fighting games.
Today, players often choose fight sticks or leverless controllers for better precision and accuracy, and while they don’t automatically make someone better and come with a relatively hefty price tag, they preserve the authentic arcade experience and many competitive players swear by them.
Hold On To Your Wallets
While the new Street Fighter 2 fight stick is beautifully designed and will be a hot item for fans of old-school fighting games, it’s going to cost players a pretty penny, retailing for just around $300 USD. The controller is officially available for pre-order now on the PlayStation Direct website, scheduled to be available on April 9.
The controller is listed as including the following unique features:
- Fully Customizable Leverless Fight Stick with 16 movable buttons, hot swappable Cherry MX Speed Silver RGB switches, and removable top plate to adjust button positioning or change switches.
- A premium slim size, built-in storage for your switches, button caps, light rings, button covers.
- Avoid accidental DQs with the built-in Tournament Lock Switch allowing you to disable the top bar. Easily jump from PS5, PS4, and PC with the built-in console switch mode.
- Millions of Color Combinations: Customize RGB light rings around the buttons for a standout display that outshines the competition, adjustable via the Victrix Control Hub app.
