As revealed on the official PlayStation Blog, the new games coming to the Essential tier of PS Plus in April are:
- Lords of the Fallen
- Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream
- Tomb Raider I-III Remastered
Most PS Plus April Games Leaked Early
Perhaps because there was an extra week before the official announcement, most of the free games for PlayStation Plus this month leaked early. Reliable leaker Billbil_kun announced Lords of the Fallen was the headliner a week ago, and then followed this up a few days later by leaking Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream was also arriving on PS Plus in April.
Lords of the Fallen is a pretty nice addition, and it’s great timing considering a sequel is on the way and will seemingly launch in August. It’s gotten mostly positive reviews and the sequel has a lot of hype surrounding it, so this would be the perfect chance to give the first game a try.
Sword Art Online: Fracture Daydream has more mixed reviews, but the multiplayer title may still be enticing for SOA fans. Since it’s free with PS Plus this month, you may want to at least give a try to see if you like it or not. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered is a pretty nice addition and for anyone who grew up on the PS1 era (like yours truly), this looks like a nice one.
PS Plus Is Having A Mixed 2026 So Far
Overall, 2026 has been a mixed year for PlayStation Plus. While we’ve gotten more monthly games than usual, the actual quality of the titles added to Essential are all over the place, and PS Plus members have reacted in equally mixed ways. Last month saw Monster Hunter Rise and three other titles release, while the previous month led with Undisputed and some middle-of-the-road games.
April seems to be continuing that trend. The offerings this month are solid, but not necessarily outstanding. Games being offered on Extra and Premium have definitely felt more enticing lately. The April Essential games will be added to PlayStation Plus on April 7 and will be available to add to your library until May 5.
