PlayStation Plus Offering Massive 1000+ Hour RPG For Free Right Now

Fans of massive RPGs should know that PlayStation Plus is currently offering a gargantuan 1,000+ hour beast for free, but only for a limited time. For players who are subscribed to the Extra or Premium tiers within Sony’s gaming subscription service, there are plenty of RPGs to choose from. Monster Hunter Stories, Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Bloodborne are examples of some of the best RPGs on PS Plus right now.

However, the catalog is constantly undergoing changes, with new arrivals and a few departures every month. There are currently a few talks about two massive RPGs coming to PS Plus in March, Final Fantasy 16 and Dragon’s Dogma 2. Apart from what the catalog has to offer, Sony also offers free games every month, some of which are RPGs. This month, one of the games is part of that genre, and it’s a 1,000+ hour beast you won’t want to miss.

ESO Collection: Gold Road Is Free On PS Plus

Get The Base Game & 9 Huge DLCs For Free Right Now

Three characters look at the Gold Road in Elder Scrolls Online.

As part of the free PS Plus Essential games in March 2026, The Elder Scrolls Collection: Gold Road is being offered to all members of the subscription service, regardless of their tier. The game is compatible with both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. The game will be available for redemption until April 6 – if you redeem it, the RPG joins your library permanently, and can be played at any time, as long as you still hold a membership.

It is worth noting that The Elder Scrolls Collection: Gold Road is a huge deal. The pack contains the base game, which is nothing short of gargantuan alone, plus the Gold Road Chapter and all previous Chapters released before it. This means the Morrowind, Summerset, Esweyr, Greymoor, Blackwood, High Isle, and Necrom Chapters are also included. For reference, Chapters are the main DLC for ESO, so you’ll get the MMORPG plus nine complete DLC packs.

If you take all of this content into consideration, including potential side quests and other activities you can participate in, you’re looking at well over 1,000 hours of gameplay. This can be extended even further by playing PvP modes, looking into hidden side quests, repeatable content, seasonal events, and unlocking cosmetics for your characters. The presence of The Elder Scrolls Online on PS Plus, especially in this version, is truly a gift for members.

The MMORPG Expands Tamriel’s Lore

Elder Scrolls Online Update 44 new companion Tanlorin

Even though PS Plus is offering Monster Hunter Rise this month, too, which is arguably the very best game in the Essential tier in March, ESO should not be overlooked. Its release, following the wake and revolution that was The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, made it feel like a suboptimal game. The game was somewhat seen as an online Skyrim experience, but it is not like that in the slightest, as it is an MMORPG.

Granted, ESO does not have the narrative horsepower of its competitor, the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy XIV, but its different story arcs are remarkable, and they significantly expand the lore of Tamriel. In fact, it’s the Elder Scrolls game with the most amount of Tamriel lore ever. You get to visit, essentially, every major region in the fantasy world, and there are even more unique details that are exclusive to the MMORPG, like the new Daedric Prince introduced with the Gold Road expansion.

If you’re looking for a quality game that will take over your free time and that is free-to-play – at least with your current subscription – I highly recommend diving into the world of The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road. It’s one of the biggest games PlayStation Plus has ever offered, and as a fan myself, I can state that it is well worth your time, dedication, and attention.
