PlayStation Plus Deluxe and Premium members can avail of a two-hour free trial of the much-ridiculed Mindseye on PS5. Considered one of last year’s worst games and a total flop right out of the gate, Mindseye hasn’t garnered many fans since its launch. A quick glance at the comments of the PlayStation Plus Reddit thread shows that all gamers can agree on one thing… Mindseye is truly a bad game and the memes are comedy gold!
MindsEye Has Come To PlayStation Plus… For Some Reason
Try Before You Refuse To Buy?
Often deals are put in place long before a game launches, but it still seems like a weird choice for PlayStation to give a free trial of a game that absolutely crashed and burned so spectacularly last year. Perhaps they’re testing the waters for engagement, and maybe we’ll see Mindseye added to the free games catalog soon? Getting a free game to play is usually a good thing, but this hasn’t gone down well with gamers!
Mindseye sits with a 33% average score on OpenCritic and apart from it just being a generally bad game, it was plagued with game-breaking bugs from launch. Brought to us by a former GTA developer, gamers had high hopes leading up to launch that this would be a massive sandbox game to rival GTA 6, only to have any hopes completely dashed almost immediately once the game actually came out.
PlayStation Plus Subscribers Are Already Roasting It
The PlayStation Plus Reddit comment section isn’t holding back. With some claiming that a two-hour free trial would be two hours of their lives that they’d never get back. Others are predicting that this is a stepping stone before the game is added to the Premium tier library of games. And one that I particularly enjoyed, kept it short and sweet and just stated ‘the audacity…’
However, it’s not all negativity and humorous banter. Some players stated that the game is decent and solid to play, just not great. Perhaps with a free trial to tempt PlayStation Plus players to Mindseye, it might just capture a community of sympathizers and actually rise from the ashes a little. Sure, it’ll never be the free open-world RPG to beat GTA 6, but it might be worth a bash. Me personally, I’m planning to try it out. What’s the worst that could happen?
