Pokémon Fans Hoping Pokopia DLC Fixes Major Oversight

Players have begun to notice that Pokémon Pokopia seems to be missing a large number of characters from the Pokédex. As we work to build habitats in this cozy life sim game to help lure Pokémon back to our worlds, it can be hard to notice this lack at first. After all, many of the Pokémon can be hard to get, even after the perfect habitats are built for them, which makes it a challenge to catch them all.

Once players are getting to the endgame and a bit more advanced in their collecting and habitat building, it starts to become more apparent that there is one entire type of Pokémon that is just not there, at least for the most part. Other than seeing an Avalugg table, there really are no Ice-type pocket monsters anywhere to be found.

Pokémon Pokopia Is Missing The Ice-Type

Of course, having the Ice-type in Pokopia wouldn’t have really made much sense with the way the story is currently going. At the start of the game, we see that even Squirtle was struggling from a lack of moisture, and all biomes in the game are certainly leaning toward being warmer environments.

From the tropical habitats of Bleak Beach to the entire volcanic eruption that has destroyed Rocky Ridges, there really isn’t any cold biome in this world. Perhaps from the damage that humans did with all the natural disasters, global warming has just gotten rid of this type of weather. Yet, with Ditto and friends repairing the environment, perhaps this could change in the future, and the Ice-types will get to wake up as well.

Players Hope This Means A Snowy DLC Could Be In The Future

Reddit Users Discuss The Missing Type

In a discussion on Reddit about the missing Ice-type Pokémon, user healingmist commented, “i reallllly want a snow themed DLC! it would be so cute to have snow covered trees, pikachu shaped snowmen, snowy weather etc. this might be controversial, but i’d like it if ice blocks were slippery too— that way we could make ice puzzles like there were in other pokémon games.” This remark is not only liked by thousands of people, but seems like it could be possible.

While we don’t know anything yet about DLC for Pokémon Pokopia, we have already seen that there are going to be regular events that include bringing new Pokémon to our worlds. Adding some of the Ice-type to the game could be done in an event, although with such a large undertaking, it would certainly make sense for them to be a future DLC in the incredibly popular Pokémon Pokopia.
