The Australian series was released in 2023 and is widely considered one of the best shows to come out of Australia in recent years. Its season 2 premiere is set to be a massive global hit and should gain traction with American audiences as well, due to its unique yet familiar crime series format.
Deadloch is somewhat like Netflix’s 2022 series Murderville or even the 2017 series American Vandal in that it takes the traditional crime series format and twists it on its head, adding satire and dark comedy. Deadloch follows two female police officers, Dulcie and Eddie, who lead a team of misfits to bring a killer to justice. The mix of chills, thrills, and levity makes Deadloch widely appealing.
