Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty Replacement Sets Release Date & Unveils First Look Images
Prime Video has found the perfect replacement for those missing The Summer I Turned Pretty in the new romance series Every Year After.

The Summer I Turned Pretty captivated audiences as it became one of the most-streamed series on Prime Video, leading to a movie now being made after the series’ finale was released. The adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel was ranked number 1 in over 120 countries during the release of season 3 and tripled its viewership from season 1.

Prime Video has provided first-look images for its new adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Every Summer After, with the series Every Year After set to debut all eight episodes on June 10. The series stars Sadie Soverall (known for Saltburn) and Matt Cornett (known for Summer of 69) as the two main characters, Percy and Sam. Other cast members include Abigail Cowen, Aurora Perrineau, Michael Bradway, Joseph Chiu, and Elisha Cuthbert.

“Told over the course of six years and one week in Barry’s Bay – the quintessential lake town – Every Year After is a romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever.”

Every Year After is based on Fortune’s novel, which spent 16 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list, has sold 1M+ copies to date, and gained popularity through BookTok, with the book hashtag getting over 81.4M views on TikTok. Amy B. Harris (Just My Luck, The Wilds, Gossip Girl) will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Fortune, Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens, and Grace Gilroy as executive producers.

The Summer I Turned Pretty ended in 2025 after three seasons and has a respectable rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Series creator and author Han is writing and directing the feature film, which will act as a final chapter for Belly’s (played by Lola Tung) story. The series follows Belly as she’s caught in a love triangle between two brothers, Conrad (played by Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (played by Gavin Casalegno), whom she visits every summer.

At the time of writing, there was no official release date for the movie, as Han wants to ensure the final chapter is perfect and wants the cast to age into the next phase of their character’s lives.

Every Year After will be released on Prime Video on June 10.
