The Congress had raised objections to his election affidavit, alleging improper declaration of a Bengaluru property valued at around ₹200 crore. The complaint was filed by Congress candidate K. S. Sabarinathan, who claimed that a 49,000 sq ft residence in Koramangala was not fully disclosed.
However, Chandrasekhar’s affidavit reportedly listed the property with a market value of ₹15.07 crore, not ₹200 crore. After reviewing the objections, election authorities cleared the nomination, rejecting the complaints.
Sabarinathan has indicated he may pursue legal action after consulting with senior Congress leaders.
Responding to the allegations, Chandrasekhar dismissed them as baseless and challenged the Congress to take the matter to court, accusing the party of targeting opponents with personal attacks. He added that voters would ultimately prioritise development over controversy.
