Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Finland’s Fazer to produce, market, and distribute the Finnish company’s premium chocolates across India, the companies announced on Friday.

The MoU was signed in Bengaluru on the sidelines of Finnish President Alexander Stubb’s state visit to India. Under the agreement, RCPL will handle commercialisation and distribution of Fazer-branded chocolates manufactured using the Finnish company’s recipes and quality standards.

The partnership gives Fazer access to RCPL’s network of nearly three million retail outlets across India. RCPL’s Director T. Krishnakumar said the deal would accelerate the company’s growth in the chocolate and confectionery segment by combining Fazer’s global brands with RCPL’s local production and distribution capabilities.

Fazer CEO Christoph Vitzthum said India’s growing chocolate market presented a significant opportunity for the company’s international expansion. Fazer currently operates in the Nordics, Baltics, Poland, and China, and exports to over 40 countries. The group reported net sales of EUR 1,200 million in 2025.

Founded in 2022, RCPL has previously revived Indian heritage confectionery brands including Ravalgaon, Pan Pasand, and Lotus Chocolates, and introduced international brands such as Maliban and Nexba to the Indian market.
