Resident Evil Requiem’s First Update Lands: Here’s What’s In It
This latest update, which arrived on 4 March, will turn Resident Evil Requiem into version 1.110.000. It mainly focuses on Path Tracing performance and stability based around your GPU’s limitations. As such, the update aims to fix a bug which could cause significant frame rate drops for PC players. Previously, users had reported experiencing around a 16% frame rate drop whilst using RTX 40 and the 50 series GPUs. Hopefully, with 1.110.000, this has been fixed. Additionally, Nvidia itself has also released a hotfix driver update to help remedy this bug, so whether the main issue was on Nvidia’s side or Capcom’s side remains to be seen.
With some PC players also reporting stuttering and outright crashes during Resident Evil Requiem, version 1.110.000 also welcomes fixes to application crashes and system freezes which occurred on some setups. Last but not least, Capcom has also improved the localization UI, meaning that your subtitles will not be inconsistent when using different languages. Unfortunately, this latest patch is not compatible with mods, so if you have added any to your game, you will have to temporarily uninstall them ahead of downloading the new update to not risk breaking your game entirely.
Resident Evil Requiem DLC Previously Leaked
In other news, rumors of a potential Resident Evil Requiem DLC are already in full swing, with fans already eager to get their hands on more of the hit Capcom title. According to leakers such as RinotheBouncer over on Twitter, a DLC is “already in an advanced stage of development.” It is believed that Alyssa Ashcroft may play a much larger role in the DLC, and perhaps show more of what happened leading up to her death. Additionally, Leon is expected to return with the DLC set to focus on him rather than Grace, and will include a lot of cut content from the main game. Of course, this DLC has not been officially confirmed or announced by Capcom, and so is worth taking with a pinch of salt. However, with the Resident Evil franchise notoriously welcoming DLCs for all of its previous titles, it would be surprising to see Resident Evil Requiem be the exception.
