Scream 7 Breaks The Franchise’s All-Time Box Office Record After 30 Years

Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Scream 7 is projected to end its third weekend in theaters by hitting a global gross of $176.9 million, comprising $107 million from domestic theaters and an additional $69.9 million from international markets. This sees it becoming the first sequel to ever outgross 1996’s Scream ($173 million worldwide), shattering an all-time record to become the highest-grossing installment in the seven-film Scream franchise.

However, it is still only the second highest-grossing Scream movie at the domestic box office. The current domestic record-holder is 2023’s Scream VI, which earned $108.4 million by the end of its run. However, the new installment only needs to earn an additional $1.4 million in order to break that record too, which is something it should be able to do by the end of its third full week in theaters.
