ScreenRant’s own Liam Crowley recently sat down with Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane and executive producer Sana Amanat for an exclusive interview for season 2, where Spider-Man also got addressed. In light of the big Anti-Vigilante Task Force storyline that is driving the new season, the creative team was asked if the Marvel icon is on Kingpin’s radar.
Amanat began by stating, “I don’t know. I don’t think so. It would be great. Sure. I’d assume so,” before adding, “but that’s not the story that we’re telling.” She stressed that “I have no idea what they’re doing in Spider-Man, honestly. I haven’t read anything yet.”
Scardapane shared the same thought that “they don’t tell me anything.” Daredevil. Born Again season 2 will be the last MCU project to come out before Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters, which has raised a lot of questions about how Mayor Fisk’s actions affect Peter Parker, and where he is in New York at this point in the MCU timeline.
Brad Winderbaum, who is the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation for Marvel Studios, stated in an interview back in October 2025, that there would be some connections between Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Daredevil: Born Again season 2. At the time, Winderbaum stated, “We are communicating a lot with the team on Spider-Man: Brand New Day to make sure that there’s coherence there. We don’t want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important.”
He elaborated that “we’re in a shared universe together, but I would say just the Daredevil comic books, the Punisher comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than Spider-Man’s, but they both exist in the same universe.” Winderbaum concluded with, “It’s similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we’re able to tell different stories.”
As the AVTF will be one of the big components of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, there may be, at the very least, references or allusions to how this affects Spider-Man. In the first season, Kingpin briefly referred to Tom Holland’s superhero as “a man who dresses in a spider outfit.”
The timing is also perfect, given that Sony is dropping the first Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer this week, only six days before the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premiere. Season 3 of the MCU drama has already been greenlit, as production is currently underway.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres on Tuesday, March 24 at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT, followed by weekly releases, only on Disney+.
