Across social media like Reddit, fans are delighted to see that the Star Wars Battlefront franchise has not been given up on, at least not by other fans. Funny enough, thanks to Star Wars Battlefront 3 Legacy, gamers may never need an actual Star Wars Battlefront 3 to see the light of day, and it might not even come close to what modders have been able to achieve in the last decade.

Recently, a Star Wars Battlefront 3 Legacy stress test from Legacy Discord members and the mod’s development team was streamed live to viewers on YouTube in order to “test the current state of Multiplayer, Capital Ship destruction, Heroes, and general gameplay changes to the mod.” This mod is obviously still a work in progress, and thus it is nowhere near technically perfect or without the need for improvement in some areas.

Nonetheless, fans are raving about it, and for good reason. For example, YouTube users Einritus, nostro3546, and AustinMarsack all commend the work being put into the Star Wars Battlefront 3 Legacy mod, with user DYSTOPHILIE sharing that they “cant wait for 1.0.”

Reddit user LeftyArmorer is equally thrilled: “That’s freakin sick, looks like they’ve been hard at work, always exciting to see more BF3.”

No 1.0 release window has been narrowed down thus far, but, unlike many other expansive, ambitious mods, there are frequent updates on Star Wars Battlefront 3 Legacy for fans to look forward to, such as the multiplayer EU stress testing that was conducted a month ago.

Either way, it is always great to see how Star Wars Battlefront 3 Legacy is taking shape, and it will be neat to see if the hype that continues to envelop the Star Wars Battlefront series can somehow translate into an official threequel in the future, assuming every star in a galaxy far, far away will align.
