That said, there is the foundations of a good game there, and if the worlds they created were a little more interesting to explore, then the gameplay actually holds up pretty well. Fortunately, that is something the modding community has recognized, and what better way to rectify the immersive setting issue than by porting the whole thing into George Lucas’ Star Wars universe.
That is what Star Wars Genesis sets out to do, and it’s by far and away one of the most impressive community projects underway for any game right now.
Star Wars Genesis Is The Ultimate Star Wars Experience
Star Wars Genesis is a huge modpack being put together under the guidance of Deity Vengy. It’s a total conversion that transforms the game into a hugely immersive Star Wars RPG that brings many of the most iconic locations from the franchise to life, solving arguably Starfield’s biggest problem in the process.
That means you’ll be able to head to fully realized versions of Tatooine, Coruscant, Mandalore, Tython, Geonosis, and more, all with functional shops, NPCs, loot and points of interest to explore in any way you see fit.
This is much more than a simple reskin of the original game though, and it’s essentially an entirely new game with a full main story, a questline related to the Rebellion, full conversion of all factions in the game with five additional organizations, and unique side quests that all fit well in the existing lore.
All the weapons, armor, and droids within the game have been changed, and there essentially isn’t an element of the base Starfield experience that remains unchanged.

It’s actually a pretty exciting time to be a Star Wars fan more generally, with a ton of exciting projects on the way including Star Wars Eclipse, Fate of the Old Republic, a Knights of the Old Republic remake and a third part in the Jedi series all on the way over the next few years.
Until then, Star Wars Genesis has a genuine claim to being the best experience you can have in that universe for some time to come, with the entire package still improving all the time.
