Now, you can try a very new late-2025 release on Steam for free. The catch? You only have 72 more hours to check it out.
Steam Gamers Have 72 Hours To Play This Freebie
Then It Reverts
Released in late 2025 by Straight4 Studios, Project Motor Racing had a rough start but has since incorporated fan feedback into updates and now has a “mostly positive” reception. As a simulation-based racer, you’ll command “70 meticulously created cars.” Project Motor Racing sports a single-player career mode, online racing modes, and in-game events.
While the reviews appreciate the game’s level of detail, technical issues seem to be dividing fans. Here’s a review that explains the alterations made in the 2.0 update: “That being said, the game overall ends up being just a little bit better. The most unforgivable thing is really just the performance to me. I’m willing to get used to quirky physics if it means I get an even better single player experience, which – to be completely honest – this game doesn’t really deliver.”
Even the positive reviews seem to have some problems with the technical aspects of the game: “Have been having a ton of fun with it, honestly, playing just single player, working my way up. I am only playing on the controller, but I am loving it so far. My main gripe, though, is that it seems to have artifacts at the highest settings on my PC, weirdly. No other game has this issue, weirdly.”
Others are impressed at how far it’s come: “After being aware of the terrible launch state, I put off buying until a sizeable update was released. Safe to say this is now an enjoyable game, though some fixes are still required in terms of vehicle handling. But i think this game has a great future ahead given the devs support and aims of delivering improvements.”
If you end up getting into the game during this free period, Project Motor Racing also has a Year 1 Season Pass, as well as a 50% discount for the core game, down to $30 from $60.
