Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to frame uniform regulations for temples across the state to preserve sanctity and spirituality.
The guidelines should be framed on the lines of Tirumala to prohibit meetings of political parties, the hoisting of flags, and demonstrations in the temple premises, Reddy said.
Strict traffic and access norms in temple areas
To regulate the rising vehicular traffic in the temple area, the Chief Minister issued strict instructions that even the vehicles of prominent dignitaries and VIPs must be parked outside the temple complex. Such visitors should be permitted to move within the temple premises only in electric vehicles (EVs). Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to draw up a plan and implement it immediately. A solar rooftop system will also be installed at the parking area.
Basara temple development plan reviewed
He also reviewed a proposed master plan for the development of Basara Gnana Saraswathi Temple, with an estimated cost of ₹225 crore. The Chief Minister suggested several modifications to the master plan and instructed officials to implement it in accordance with the rituals and traditions.
Apart from temple development, other infrastructure near the temple should also be developed, including spacious roads to meet future requirements in view of the increasing number of devotees and pilgrims visiting the temple, Reddy added.
