While there’s not been a major announcement for Part 3 just yet, The Last of Us is officially returning this month with a unique new release that fans of the game’s main character will definitely want to check out (via Insert Coin).
The Last Of Us Officially Returns This April
The Last of Us is back this month with a brand-new piece of gear for fans of Ellie. Insert Coin Clothing currently has a unique “Ellie blue- colored” hoodie featuring her iconic arm tattoo printed in black on the sleeve, expected to ship this April and available to pre-order now. The hoodie is listed at $61.41 USD and comes in sizes ranging from XS to 3XL.
Insert Coin actually has several unique The Last of Us-themed items available, such as Joel’s infamous Owl coffee mug, a range of unique T-shirts, Firefly Gloves, Abby’s Backpack, and much more. It’s well worth checking out if you’re a hardcore The Last of Us fan looking for some new merch or gear to add to your collection.
And if new The Last of Us merch isn’t something you get all that excited about, there’s still a lot to look forward to when it comes to the future of the franchise with a potential third game on the horizon.
Will There Be A Part 3?
While there’s still been no official confirmation that The Last of Us Part 3 is in the works at Naughty Dog, Druckmann has hinted multiple times over the years that it’s going to happen at some point. This has become the subject of great debate among players, with many arguing that Ellie’s story should be left where it is.
It’s also unclear exactly who the main character of the third game will be, not to mention the timeline in The Last of Us universe and whether we’d end up seeing Ellie years in the future after Part 2 ended. At this point, there are a lot of places where Part 3 could go wrong, and Druckmann will really need to stick the landing if and when it ends up happening.
That said, The Last of Us Part 3 is not a priority over at Naughty Dog at the moment, with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet well into its development and a release anticipated in the next few years. Fans will unfortunately need to brace for a long wait for any further The Last of Us content and the conclusion of Ellie’s epic journey.
