The Masked Singer Season 14: Who Is Pangolin? (SPOILERS)

WARNING! THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE MASKED SINGER SEASON 14!The Masked Singer season 14 contestant Pangolin’s identity has been one of the biggest mysteries, but her clue packages and voice might’ve given away her true identity: singer Rachel Platten. The Masked Singer season 14 welcomed back panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora, along with host Nick Cannon. Pangolin was introduced on Red, White & Clue Night as a Wild Card contestant, during which she sang a sensational rendition of “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette.

On The Masked Singer season 14 Ozzfest Night, Pangolin returned to the stage to sing an emotional version of “Mama, I’m Coming Home” by the rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne, to whom the episode was dedicated. So far, the panelists have had many guesses about her identity, including Sara Bareilles (Rita), Christina Perri (Jenny), and Katy Perry (Ken) on Red, White & Clue Night.

On Ozzfest Night, Jenny stuck with her guess of Christina, but the other panelists thought that she was Vanessa Carlton (Rita) and Michelle Branch (Robin). However, they’re all likely wrong because the clues point to another music superstar: “Fight Song” singer Rachel Platten.

The Masked Singer Season 14’s Pangolin’s Career Clues

During The Masked Singer season 14 Ozzfest Night, Pangolin shared that Ozzy was an inspiration to her because he stood up for himself, and she had to learn how to do that too. When she started out, she was living in and working out of her van, and she was on the brink of giving up. A kettlebell with a heart was shown on it, which could represent Rachel’s 6X platinum song, “Fight Song.”

Then, fame suddenly hit, and Pangolin was pulled in so many directions. She said that she felt the need to please everyone, or what she worked so hard for might all go away. However, Pangolin added that, sometimes, all it takes is a powerful song to pull someone out of the darkness. She found hers, and it became her armor to stand up for herself.

This story mirrors Rachel’s perfectly. Rachel wrote “Fight Song” when she was a struggling musician. A tip jar clue could represent that time in her life. On June 27, 2014, “Fight Song,” debuted on the social networking website, We Heart. Six months later, it was featured in the Pretty Little Liars Christmas special, and it sold thousands of copies per week. Rachel officially released the song on February 19, 2015, and it reached number six on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was also at the top of the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart for nine weeks.

On September 26, 2025, Rachel announced Fight Song (Rachel’s Version), an album in which she re-recorded songs from her album, Wildfire, including “Fight Song.” She has said that she made the album to reclaim her songs, and infuse them with her own pride. Rachel was proud that she now owns her own masters.

The Masked Singer’s Heidi Montag Reveals Injury She Sustained As Snow Cone That Would’ve Taken Her Out Of The Competition & Talks About New Music

Masked Singer’s Heidi Montag reveals an injury she sustained as Snow Cone that would’ve forced her to leave the competition if she wasn’t eliminated.

On The Masked Singer season 14’s Red, White & Clue Night, Pangolin shared that she became “the Halftime Queen.” Rachel sang her hit song “Fight Song” at the 2025 Los Angeles Rams Crucial Catch game.

There were also several visual references to Rachel’s songs in Pangolin’s clue packages. On Red, White & Clue Night, an astronaut leading a marching band on a football field referred to her 2016 song, “Astronauts,” while a “No Glass” sign was a nod to her 2017 song “Broken Glass.” The number 1,000 on Ozzfest Night was a reference to Rachel’s single in 2011, “1,000 Ships,” while a fire-breathing man was a reference to her album, Wildfire.

The word, “Winner,” was also a clue on The Masked Singer season 14 Red, White & Clue Night. Pangolin explained, “My first big win was more than a dream come true. It was proof that passion and hard work can really pay off.” In 2015, Rachel won her first award, which was the Music Heals Award from Musicians On Call.

Rachel went on to win an iHeartRadio Music Award for Best Lyrics for “Fight Song” in 2016 and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Talk Show/Morning Program for a live performance of “Fight Song” on Good Morning America in the same year. In 2017, she won the Gracie Impact Award at the Gracie Awards.

“Diamond” was another clue for Pangolin on Ozzfest Night. She explained, “Okay. I’ve hit plenty of milestones. But this one … it truly shimmered.” While the panelists thought that the clue referred to a record having diamond certification (10 million units sold), Rachel hasn’t achieved this just yet, although “Fight Song” has gone 6X platinum in the United States. However, in 2015, Rachel headlined the 38th Children’s Hospital Gala with Super Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute band. In addition, Rachel co-wrote singer Angelina Jordan’s song, “Diamond.”

The Masked Singer Season 14’s Pangolin’s Personal Life Clues

During The Masked Singer season 14’s Red, White & Clue Night, Pangolin revealed that she’s from a place that’s rich with American history. Rachel was born in New York City, and grew up in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, which is very close to Boston. Both of those cities are very important to the history of the United States.

Pangolin added that the people where she’s from all speak the same language: sports. She said that her family was very much into sports, and her dad would quiz her on Sunday’s starting lineup, and she’d always get it right. Rachel grew up playing sports such as soccer, softball, basketball, tennis, and skiing.

Also in that episode, Pangolin shared a story about how, when she was in high school, she was at a football game with her boyfriend. After watching the halftime show, she told him that she wanted to perform in an event like that too. Pangolin’s boyfriend laughed at her, and told her that it would never happen. She stared at him and thought about how she’d prove him wrong. Pangolin added that she did, right after she dumped him. She revealed that she later became “the Halftime Queen,” while a football stadium was shown.

In an October 2024 Facebook post, Rachel told an identical story, writing that, 25 years ago, she was at a Patriots game with her then-boyfriend. When Faith Hill performed at the halftime show, she felt so inspired and declared to him that one day she’d do it too. He laughed and remarked that she didn’t even write songs and asked if she was crazy. Rachel added that his comment lit a fire under her, and she eventually performed during a Patriots’ halftime show too, having a full-circle moment.

Although it’s only speculation right now, The Masked Singer season 14’s Pangolin seems to be Rachel. The clues point in her direction, and Pangolin’s voice sounds exactly like hers. Whoever Pangolin turns out to be, she’s an extraordinary singer whose phenomenal performances will most likely earn her a spot in the finals. It’s very likely that Pangolin will win The Masked Singer season 14 and take home the Golden Mask Trophy.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
