The Smartest Character in Anime History is Officially Returning to Crunchyroll On April 1st

April will bring a ton of great anime back for the spring season, and it will see the return of some of the most iconic characters in the medium.

There are a range of highly intelligent characters in anime. Some are so smart they break their series, transcending traditional borders and cementing themselves as the smartest characters in anime.

Out of every character in anime, there might not be someone smarter than Classroom of the Elite’s Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. He’s so smart that he defines Classroom of the Elite, and as of April 1st, he’s back in action.

Classroom of the Elite Is Back on April 1st

Classroom of the Elite is one of the few edgy anime series that does it right. Edgy anime can be some of the worst around, showcasing boring characters, contrived plot lines, and sequences that just don’t make sense. Classroom of the Elite breaks through these barriers consistently and confidently.

The series centers around Ayanokoji and the rest of the students at the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School, an elite high school designed for the absolute smartest. The school pits students against one another, forcing them to outwit one another at every turn.

10 Most Iconic Anime Villain Groups of All Time

There are only a handful of villain groups in anime so iconic that they define the series they’re in: here are the 10 greatest of all time.

The anime has had three wonderful seasons, and the fourth will finally be coming out on April 1st. It’s a gripping series that has only gotten better since the first season, and it looks like the fourth season will capitalize on the franchise’s success through new characters and a whole new set of brutal, seemingly impossible scenarios.

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka Is the Smartest Character in Anime

There are plenty of smart characters in anime, and they exist on both sides of the moral spectrum. Some characters use their intelligence for good, while others use their genius to try and dominate the world. Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries is a perfect example of the first, and she’s usually much smarter than she wants to be.

Kenjaku from Jujutsu Kaisen represents the latter. He’s easily the smartest character in Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s his evil nature that has nearly brought Jujutsu Society to its knees. Bulma isn’t one of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball, but she’s as essential as Goku or Vegeta. Without her, the Z Fighters would be in trouble.

Out of every character in anime, however, there might not be someone as smart as Ayanokoji. He’s leagues ahead of everyone around him, and even though three seasons, it feels like he’s only unleashed a fraction of his true intelligence.

What Does Season Four Have in Store for Ayanokoji?

Season four will showcase Ayanokoji and the rest of his classmates as they begin their second-year at the Advanced Nurturing High School. While the first three seasons saw a major separation between the first, second, and third years, the fourth season will force them to compete against each other.

Even though Ayanokoji is incredibly intelligent, he’s not going to have an easy time. There are a couple of characters from the White Room, the insidious, enigmatic lab in which Ayanokoji was produced, who are destined to make his time at the Advanced Nurturing High School difficult.

Classroom of the Elite is finally back on April 1st, and it couldn’t look better. The animation style looks closer to the source material’s designs, the story is picking up in a massive way, and for the first time in the series, it looks like Ayanokoji will finally find someone worth using his entire intelligence against.
