IPL 2026 could turn out to be a make-or-break season for pacer Arjun Tendulkar, who is keen to establish his own identity in the league. Carrying forward the legacy of his father and India’s batting icon Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun is yet to make a lasting impact in the IPL. After switching from Mumbai to Goa in domestic cricket, the left-arm pacer has delivered several match-winning spells. However, one aspect that continues to haunt him is remaining stuck in his “comfort zone.”

Arjun, who represents Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, appeared on the Shubhankar Mishra Podcast ahead of the 2026 season. During the conversation, he was asked about his experience of playing for Goa in domestic cricket.

Responding to the question, Arjun said, “Comfort zone se nahi nikla hoon main. Idhar bhi maza aa raha hai.” (“I haven’t really come out of my comfort zone. Even here, I am enjoying myself.”)

However, carrying the “Tendulkar” surname is a daunting task in itself, especially in a country like India where cricket is worshipped like a religion. While the name has undeniably opened doors and provided Arjun with opportunities, it also comes with its own harsh realities.

According to The Indian Express, Arjun was once trolled by one of his teammates over a famous advertisement featuring his father Sachin Tendulkar. The incident dates back to a Kanga League match in 2016, when Arjun was sitting on the ground with his teammates after being bowled out.

As tea was being distributed among the players, one of them offered Arjun a cup. When the pacer refused, the teammate mocked him by saying, “Haan haan, tu toh Boost hi piyega na?”

For the uninitiated, Sachin Tendulkar had famously appeared in a television advertisement for the malted milk drink Boost, which went on to become a viral sensation among teenagers across the country.

Arjun was also asked whether he feels the weight of expectations as the son of Sachin Tendulkar. In response, Arjun said that his focus remains on enjoying his game rather than listening to outside noise.

“I play cricket out of passion, not to prove anything to anyone. I just focus on the process of working hard and enjoying my game,” Arjun replied on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel.
