Met with critical acclaim and praise from both critics and the public, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was commended for its art direction, combat, level design, and story, and is now widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time. Although a high-definition remaster, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, was released back in 2016, it has yet to receive the 4K, next-gen treatment. Well, until now.
Zelda: Twilight Princess Has Never Looked Better
Courtesy of Henriko Magnifico Showcase over on YouTube, we can now get a glimpse of what a modern-day The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess could look like, and it is safe to say that we are not worthy of such beauty. In a brief teaser, we can see Link and his loyal stead race across sunset-drenched mountains and clifftops as they race the sun and, despite giving us just a taste, it is clear that a whole remaster using these graphics would be greatly appreciated by fans.
With Henriko Magnifico Showcase simply saying “Cooking…” in the video’s description, we can assume that they are working on this project behind the scenes, so it may not be long until we receive even more footage of a remastered Twilight Princess. For now, however, fans took to the comments to share their thoughts on the brief teaser. “Incredible work as always, even Nintendo couldn’t do it as good as you do,” one comment read. Another agreed, adding, “Better than Wind Waker in every imaginable way.
If you want to try out a remastered The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for yourself, you can now check out Henriko Magnifico Showcase’s texture pack, which is available to download on their Patreon page, so be expected to pay a small fee to gain access to it. However, if you want your game looking as smooth as this, it is definitely worth the price tag.
Zelda Fans Are Desperate For Twilight Princess To Come To Switch 2
In the meantime, fans are hoping that unofficial projects such as this will finally inspire Nintendo to bring a remastered The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to the Nintendo Switch 2. With the brand-new Nintendo handheld regularly welcoming ports and remasters thanks to its Classics collection, there is no reason why Twilight Princess cannot be one of them, but as always, fans await for Nintendo to make the announcement with bated breath. At least we have creators such as Henriko Magnifico Showcase to keep us busy in the meantime.
