Having won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title for the first time in 2025, they’ve begun IPL 2026 with a thumping win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. The harmony within the dressing room seems evident, made clear by videos such as the one showing Phil Salt appreciating mentor Dinesh Karthik. Now, a humorous video from the RCB camp has gone viral, showing star batter Virat Kohli hilariously imitating West Indian all-rounder Romario Shepherd‘s batting stance.
The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Virat Kohli copying Shepherd’s batting style before bursting into a laugh.

Shepherd has been a multi-dimensional addition to RCB’s roster since IPL 2025, playing crucial roles with both bat and ball. His most standout moment in RCB colours came in a vital league stage game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2025, when he smashed a 14-ball 53*. He also took the pivotal wicket of Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer in the IPL 2025 final.
Shepherd has also started IPL 2026 on a strong note, picking up three wickets in RCB’s opening day victory over SRH.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli appears to be continuing his white-ball purple patch, slamming a masterful 69* off 38 balls and taking RCB to victory in their first game.
Meanwhile, RCB left-arm spinner Vicky Ostwal opened up on his time with Virat Kohli in the practice nets and how conversations with the legendary batter help the youngster to gain valuable insights about his own game.
“I have had some good conversations with him. I used to bowl to him in the nets. After I finished my net practice, I used to go up to him and talk about things like how I bowled, the kind of mindset I had when I was bowling and what kind of mindset he had when he was facing me. These kinds of conversations I have with him, and he helps me a lot. He is always like, ‘I know you can do this, I know you can do that.’ So, you know he is always pinpoint, and he is very accurate with his decisions,” Ostwal said.
RCB play their next game against CSK on Sunday, April 5.
