Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart Virat Kohli doesn’t need many reasons to become a topic of intense chatter on social media. Even though he only plays one format for the Indian national team at present, fans find a way to drag him to a conversation, even when he has not been active for weeks. Kohli, who spends most of his time with wife Anushka Sharma and his children in London, has unfortunately seen even his move to England questioned by many. Already making his bat do the talking for RCB in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli was asked about the joke “RCB playing 5 overseas players this season”. His reaction said it all.
The joke stems from the fact that no franchise is allowed to field more than 4 overseas players in the team. With Kohli now spending most of his time in England, fans often joke that he is also an ‘overseas player’. When asked about his take on this joke by Mr. Nags in a video shared by RCB on social media, Kohli was left in splits.
As the host said, “I am not understanding what they are asking actually” Kohli responded: “I don’t know why are you asking me? Ask the overseas players. I am not an overseas players”. He further asked the host if he thinks he is an overseas player. “Am I an overseas player?” Kohli asked. The host replied, “no”.
Will AI finally take Mr. Nags’s job? ??

Virat Kohli Begins IPL 2026 In Style
Kohli commenced the IPL 2026 season in imperious form, reinforcing his reputation as the “Chasemaster” during the tournament opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Chasing a target of 202 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Kohli anchored the innings with a brilliant unbeaten 69 off 38 balls, striking five boundaries and five sixes. His clinical performance guided the Bengaluru side to the fastest 200-plus chase in IPL history, completing the task in just 15.4 overs.
Other than the match-winning impact, this season has already seen Kohli reach multiple milestones. During his opening knock, he surpassed Shoaib Malik to become the Asian cricketer with the most T20 runs. He also became the first player in IPL history to accumulate over 4,000 runs specifically in run chases.
Kohli, opening the innings for RCB, appears primed to challenge his own record-breaking legacy as he eyes the 9,000-run mark in IPL history and further consolidates his legendary status at his home ground in Bengaluru.
