Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bowl against Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2026 clash on Saturday. For the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), skipper Hardik Pandya was indisposed and in his absence Suryakumar Yadav was named the skipper. In Hardik’s absence, MI made a few changes to their lineup with Deepak Chahar coming in for the star all-rounder. The five-time champions also brought in Corbin Bosch and Mitchell Santner, replacing Trent Boult and Allah Ghazanfar in the lineup.

Suryakumar confirmed that Hardik wasn’t well and, therefore, could not be included in the playing XI against DC.

“He’s not well, doesn’t look good, so he was not fit for today’s game. So just getting into his shoes today,” said Suryakumar, speaking on Hardik’s condition.

Suryakumar also opened up that the inclusion of Bosch and Santner over Boult and Ghazanfar was a tactical decision take by the team.

“Quite a few changes. Deepak Chahar comes in for Hardik. Corbin Bosch comes in for Boulty, that’s a tactical change. Boulty had a good game in the last game at Wankhede. And Mitch Santner comes in for Allah Ghazanfar,” Suryakumar said.

Delhi Capitals went unchanged.
