Best Medicine is not airing a new episode tonight, and Fox has a good reason why. The 2025-2026 TV cycle has launched several comedies throughout its run thus far. Proving to be one of the most popular genres on the small screen, some of the highest-rated projects on broadcast are sitcoms. After focusing on procedurals for their primetime offerings, Fox joins in the fun with their own comedy, which immediately caught the eye of many.

The Fox series is based on the ITV series Doc Martin, which was created by Dominic Minghella and ran from 2004 to 2022. Best Medicine introduces viewers to Dr. Martin Best, a brilliant doctor who doesn’t have the best bedside manners. Played by Josh Charles, the titular character is forced to move from practicing at a prestigious hospital in Boston to continue his practice in a small fishing village of Port Wenn, Maine where he used to spend his vacations when he was still a child.

Given the charm of the comedy, not to mention the fantastic ensemble of Best Medicine, it wasn’t surprising when it became a hit for the network almost right away. With 10 episodes now out, the series has only further endeared itself to its viewers while also continuing to build its fan-base week after week. Because of that, learning that Best Medicine is taking a hiatus in the middle of its run will be disappointing, but Fox has a clear reason for it.

The network is disrupting its regular scheduled programming to cover the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Starting at 8 PM ET, Fox is airing the final game between Venezuela and the United States for this year’s championship. Considering the high-profile game, it makes sense for the broadcaster to prioritize that over the comedy. In any case, the hiatus would give those who want to catch up on the show time to do so.

When Best Medicine Episode 11 Releases (& What To Expect)

Luckily, Fox has already set the return date for Charles’ sitcom. Best Medicine episode 11 will be released on Tuesday, March 24, at 8PM ET. The series will reclaim its original timeslot after this week’s scheduling change and will continue to run as usual for the next several weeks, likely until its anticipated finale in April. This is at least based on Fox’s current programming lineup.

Despite the two-week wait, official details for Best Medicine episode 11 have already been publicized and it sounds to be another chaotic week in the charming coastal town. The outing is titled “Mind Your Own Buboes,” which will see Port Wenn going on lockdown following fears of a flea infestation outbreak which means a very busy few days for the good doctor. On a more personal note, Dr. Best is caught at the center of town gossip about him and Louisa. Elsewhere, Aunt Sarah deals with the heartbreak of betrayal from Greg and George.
