Xbox Drops 2 Free Games You’ve 48 Hours To Check Out, No Game Pass Needed

Xbox Game Pass is definitely one of the more compelling subscription offerings in gaming right now, with a ton of deep experiences to play and a ton of day one arrivals that save those who are signed up from forking out ridiculous one-off fees for games on the day they drop.

That said, it’s also not entirely cheap, particularly at the higher levels of the subscription model, and so it’s totally understandable that not everybody wants to sign up right now.

Whilst that would usually mean that it’s not possible to take part in the regular subscriber-only events that the company runs, that is not always the case. Xbox Free Play Days is usually one that’s only available to those who are signed up to at least the Essentials tier, that’s not the case this time around, and there are a couple of free games you can jump into right now, even without an active Game Pass subscription.

Xbox Gamers Can Check Out These Two Freebies Now

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Characters wield firearms, ready for battle.

As first reported by PureXbox, players can log-in and play both FBC Firebreak and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 entirely for free until March 8 and March 9 respectively. Any progress or currency that you manage to accrue while playing (particularly thinking of BO7 here), can be carried over if you do enjoy the game and decide to plum for the full purchase.

Both games are reduced as part of Xbox’s myriad sales right now, though the price and reduction seems to be varying significantly by region. At the same time, both games are also available on Game Pass, if either of them persuades you that the service is worthwhile right now.

Outside of that, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Black Desert are also free-to-play until March 8, though you will need an active Game Pass subscription to take advantage of those.

As mentioned earlier in the post, these offerings come as part of the Xbox Free Play Days initiative, which refresh every week, allowing players to have something new to enjoy going into the weekend.

Whilst it is often aimed at, and restricted to, subscribers, there are very often ways to get involved without signing up to spend any money. That said, Xbox Game Pass is getting better all the time, and with some huge first-party titles on the way this year, it does feel like a great time to take the leap if you have the console or a compatible PC.
